Containerised Decontamination Systems

OWR has specialised in containerised decontamination systems since 1956 and has developed systems for the decontamination of personnel, buildings, material, clothing, equipment and terrain.

Containerised systems are compact and mobile, are designed to be quickly set-up with the minimum of personnel, are flexible, and can be designed according to customers' needs. They can be operated whilst on the vehicle, or off-loaded for stand-alone operation.

The field of decontamination is divided into 3 task areas:
  1. Decontamination of personnel
(decontamination of soldiers, NBC protection personnel and civilians.)
  2. Decontamination of equipment, vehicles and buildings
(decontamination of weapons and all kinds of sensitive and non sensitive equipment...such as vehicles, tanks, aircraft.. etc.)
  3. Decontamination of terrain
    (decontamination of roads, air fields..etc.)

Containerised systems use 3 types of liquid chemical for the decontamination process: emulsion, foam, solutions.

Emulsion:

This is mixed from a series of powder chemicals and added to Xylene and water. It provides chemical and biological decontamination for vehicles, buildings, and non-sensitive equipment.

Foam:

This is mixed from two powder chemicals and water, with air injected to create a foam.

It is used to decontaminate radiation of vehicles, buildings and non-sensitive personal equipment.

Solution:

Alkaline Detergent:

This is used only for personnel in shower systems.

GD-5:

This is a non-aqueous patented decontamination solution which can be used for chemical and biological decontamination. It is particularly effective when applied using a thermal fogger such as the DECOFOG.

It is used for decontamination of vehicles, buildings, sensitive and non-sensitive equipment.
